An official reception marking the 20th anniversary of the restoration of state independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been arranged at the Buta Palace. 

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev participated in the official reception. Participants warmly welcomed President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva. The national anthem of Azerbaijan was played. The head of state made a speech at the reception.

Then a film documenting the successes Azerbaijan has made in all areas in the 20 years of independence was demonstrated. 
The reception was concluded with a concert.
